Q. What sailing experience do I need to charter one of your boats?
A. As per our insurer’s stipulation you do not need to have formal sailing qualifications, you do however need to have some experience with a similar craft. Let us know what sailing you have done before or perhaps you have owned boats of your own and we will let you know what is possible.
Q. Where can I moor on the lake?
A. Both our Yacht “Two Shoes” and motor launch “Misty Lady” can be moored in a variety of locations subject to water depth and prevailing conditions. Each location offers an incredible view and will allow you access to different range of Ullswater’s great amenities.
Q. What facilities do I have access to when I charter a yacht?
A. Whether you are undertaking a bareboat charter or skippered charter the mooring provides some great facilities. Situated in the village of Watermillock in a small private bay with other boats, the site offers wonderful new shower & toilet block with private parking and truly breathtaking views. A small jetty provides great access for loading and un-loading and for easy access for group charters.
The Ullswater valley offers a superb range of all the facilities of the Lake District without the hassle of the central lakes.
Q. What’s included in a bareboat charter?
A. A weekend or overnight charter comes with a range of great inclusions to make the most of your visit with piece of mind that you will not get any unwanted surprises. Our charter packages include; – A full tank of Diesel Fuel (20 litres) – Full bow cabin linen and towels (king size duvet, pillows, sheets, and towels. – 4 x Buoyancy Aids (+1 Lifejacket) – Fully equipped galley; pans, crockery, cutlery, chopping board, knives, openers & more. – OS Map of the local area
Q. What other facilities are available on Ullswater?
A. The Ullswater Valley offers Hotels, restaurants, bars, pubs, a superb array of tourist attractions. The boats are moored near to Penrith for supermarket, post office, delicatessens, pharmacies and a range of high street shops, making an extended stay hassle free.
